I could not agree more with Jon Green’s letter on the Park Record article in the August 4-7 issue, regarding an unsightly area on Highland Drive, and the way it was presented as the home of illegal aliens.
There is so much spreading ugliness in our country right now regarding illegal immigration, and I think we all need to be very careful not to fan the flames in our little community. This article also struck me as doing just that. It’s almost as if, being a hot item nationally, The Park Record was seeking to plug Park City into the ‘action’; that we are not really an isolated, perfect little racially-diverse town, but rather one that also has divisive issues such as illegal immigration. Do we really want to join this nationwide drumbeat of xenophobia?

I can’t imagine the person this is directed to is smart enough to read the paper, but hopefully he has a friend who can read the paper to him. What type of heartless person rides there mountain bike down Daly Avenue so fast and rides over a puppy who will most likely not live doesn’t stop and yells at the poor horrified owner to go F them self when they screamed out. Hopefully Karma does exist. I think everyone needs to remember kids,dogs and people should be given some thought before recklessly riding down a PUBLIC street. Sincerely, Jon Kusner
