The Park City Police Department received recent reports of music and a party, as cases involving complaints of loudness continued.
The cases did not appear serious and seemed similar to noise issues regularly reported to the agency.
The police in many cases classify the reports as suspected disturbing the peace.
Some of the reports included:
- On Sunday, Sept. 20, a large party was reported at 8:51 p.m. on Venus Court. The police were told approximately 40 people were there.
- On Sept. 20 at 2:26 a.m., someone on Prospector Avenue contacted the police, reporting that four or five people were loud in a pool and kept them awake. The police were told quiet hours run from 10 p.m. until 8 a.m. at the location.
- On Saturday, Sept. 19, at 9:12 p.m., loud music was reported on Deer Valley Loop Road. The authorities were told nobody answered the door. The person who contacted the authorities “just wants music turned down,” according to public police logs.
- On Friday, Sept. 18, at 10:07 p.m., loud music was reported on the third floor of a Park Avenue building. The person who contacted the police indicated a band might be performing, according to department logs.
Other incidents reported to the Police Department recently included:
On Sunday, Sept. 20, at 11:53 p.m., the police received information about signs that disappeared from a Lowell Avenue parking lot. The signs outlined a parking prohibition, the police were told. The agency logged the case as a business assist rather than a suspected criminal matter.
The police at 9:44 p.m. were informed of two vehicles — a minivan and an SUV — driving in the area of American Saddler Drive and Lucky John Drive with people inside who were reported to be “yelling” and “throwing fireworks.”
Someone on Iron Canyon Court contacted the police at 2:46 p.m., indicating people were “running up and down” a driveway and someone in a vehicle picked up a bicyclist in the driveway. There was a “large group of people picked up,” the police were told. The Police Department described the case as a citizen assist rather than a suspected criminal matter.
The Police Department at 12:43 p.m. was told a “piece of chicken” was thrown through a vehicle window in the area of the intersection of Park Avenue and Kearns Boulevard. The person told the police the vehicle did not suffer damage.
The police at 7:49 a.m. received a report of what was described as a “large amount of water” that was “coming up” close to a residence on Seasons Drive. The person who contacted the police indicated the water could be a result of a break in a main, according to public police logs.
On Saturday, Sept. 19, at 11:28 a.m., up to 15 vehicles were reported on a road near Guardsman Pass.
On Friday, Sept. 18, at 9:12 p.m., someone was reported to be selling food from a vehicle on Homestake Road. The police were told the homeowners association rules prohibit the practice. The police logged the case as a citizen assist rather than a suspected criminal matter.
A police officer stopped a driver on S.R. 224 at 2:33 p.m., indicating the person was speeding. The police also said the windshield had “multiple intersecting cracks across the entire surface.” Public police logs did not provide details about any enforcement action.
On Thursday, Sept. 17, at 8:41 p.m., a suspected intoxication case was reported on Norfolk Avenue. Public police logs did not provide details.
Yard chairs were reported stolen at 4:20 p.m. on Claim Jumper Court. The chairs disappeared in the summer, the police were told.
On Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 7:20 p.m., material described as “home insulation” was reported on a lawn at a park in the area of Wyatt Earp Way. The police were told it appeared the material “was dumped there,” according to public police logs.
On Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 10:06 a.m., an officer stopped a driver on S.R. 248, indicating the person was in “a motor vehicle in a bicycle lane.” Public police logs did not provide details about whether the person received a ticket or a warning.
On Monday, Sept. 14, at 7:02 p.m., a rockslide was reported in the area of Marsac Avenue and Wheaton Way. The police were told there were rocks that were the size of a football. The police said the rocks created a traffic hazard.
A hit-and-run traffic accident was reported at 12:39 p.m. outside a business on Sidewinder Drive. The suspect vehicle was described as a truck with a trailer belonging to a landscaping company.
