Ziegfeld Theater Company: ‘Avenue Q’
The Ziegfeld Theater Company will bring the Tony Award-winning comedy musical “Avenue Q” to Park City for a six-night run, starting Wednesday, at the Egyptian Theatre. The R-rated parody of “Sesame Street” tells the story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. ‘The History of Tea’ by Deborah Jennings
Locally based lecturer Deborah Jennings will brew up her new free presentation titled “The History of Tea” at 5 p.m. on Thursday in the Park City Library’s Community Room, 1255 Park Ave. The hour-long event will feature a slide show that will whisk up traditions and trends that surround tea, as well as how it is grown and processed. Classic Cinema Club: ‘Notorious’
The public is invited to the Summit County Library Kamas Valley Branch’s Classic Cinema Club’s free screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1946 thriller “Notorious,” not rated, at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Kamas Valley Branch. 110 N. Main St. The film is a tale of espionage, romance and betrayal, starring Cary Grant as a government agent who plots to have Ingrid Bergman marry a Nazi conspirator, played by Claude Rains, who is hiding out in South America. Artist Needed for Public Art Installations
The Summit County Public Art Advisory Board seeks artists to design eight benches for the exterior of the Silver Summit Services building that commemorate the ideas of unity, community, justice, service and law and order in Park City and Summit County. Application deadline is Sept. 25. Canyons Village Management Association and Historic Park City Alliance seek Utah-based artists or artist teams to decorate the interior of a series of interactive gondolas and lifesize snow globes.
