The Park City Police Department in mid-August continued to respond to complaints about noisy people or music, which typically indicate the community is crowded.
Park City has appeared busy as the summer tourism season continues. The recent cases did not appear to be serious, but they highlight some of the issues that often arise during crowded times.
The Police Department, in many cases, classifies reports as suspected disturbing the peace. Some of the recent cases were reported in the overnight hours.
The cases included:
- On Sunday, Aug. 16, at 3:47 p.m., someone reported music, described as “very loud,” in the Iron Horse area. The person who contacted the police indicated they were one block from the source of the music.
- On Saturday, Aug. 15, at 1:26 a.m., a party in a hot tub was reported on Park Avenue. The police were told the people were “very loud.”
- On Friday, Aug. 14, at 2:11 a.m., a group of people, described as a large, was reported to be “yelling” in the area of Norfolk Avenue.
- On Thursday, Aug. 13, at 2:40 a.m., the Police Department received a complaint about loud people and music on Homestake Road.
- On Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 4:52 a.m., the Police Department received a complaint about upward of five people in a barbecue area along Deer Valley Drive who were “extremely loud” and “yelling and laughing loudly.”
- On Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 1:52 a.m., the police received a complaint about people outside a vehicle talking at what was described as a loud volume on Daly Avenue. The police were told the person who contacted the agency was unable to sleep.
- On Monday, Aug. 10, at 3:58 a.m., someone reported that a car was at a Daly Avenue trailhead with the headlights illuminated and music “blaring.”
The Police Department, meanwhile, at 6:58 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, received a complaint about a construction crew that was reportedly noisy on Solamere Drive. The person who contacted the police indicated there were ongoing issues.
