When Park City Film rolls out the inaugural Park City Film Festival this fall, Utah filmmaker JJ Gerber’s documentary, “The Life We Leave,” will set the stage for the festival on Friday, Oct. 23.
Gerber is an Emmy-nominated producer who grew up in Park City. He has spent more than 15 years working on narrative and documentary films and is making his directorial debut with “The Life We Leave.”
The film became an audience darling at its world premiere at South by Southwest (SXSW).
The Park City Film Festival is set to take place from Oct. 23-25, 2026 at the Jim Santy Auditorium at the Park City Library, 1255 Park Ave.
Over the course of three days, the event will screen five highly curated documentaries and four narrative films. The festival will also feature filmmaker panel discussions and post-screening Q & A sessions. (See below for screening schedule).
