The Summit County Sheriff's report.

Summit County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Coalville last week after they received reports of an assault in a moving vehicle.

Two men had allegedly gotten into a fight inside a moving car and had continued to fight upon exiting the vehicle, according to a shift report.

One of the men declined to file charges, but deputies determined the instigator was intoxicated during the altercation. Deputies arrested him and transported him to the Summit County Jail.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple other calls between Monday, April 13, and Sunday, April 19, including outstanding arrest warrants, traffic violations and suspected DUIs.

Saturday, April 18

Deputies observed a car on Interstate 80 commit multiple violations and initiated a traffic stop. They noted signs of impairment, and the driver performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and transported to jail.

Friday, April 17

Deputies stopped a car on Highway 40 after they saw a traffic violation. The driver performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to the Summit County Jail. During the investigation, deputies also discovered the driver had provided them with false information.

Deputies were called to a hotel in the Snyderville Basin because a woman refused to check out of her hotel room. The woman was identified as having outstanding felony warrants for her arrest. She was booked into jail.
