This is in response to the gentleman who wrote that he was taken aback that Deer Valley adhered to their policies. He purchased a Utah local pass, probably for $1,400 and complained that they would not waive the blackout dates in March.
The blackout dates were specified when he bought the pass. He skied for 16 days. The cost of the pass paid for itself after four-plus days and he is angry that Deer Valley did not waive the blackout days for him. He could have skied more than 16 days. I have skied over 50 days so far at Deer Valley this season.
If Deer Valley made an exception for him, what about everyone else?
Deer Valley deserves the utmost credit for what they have done this year. Right now there are 133 trails open, more than they ever had before the East Village expansion opened. They had the least amount of snow that I can recall, and I’ve been skiing here since the resort opened in 1981. The gentleman should be happy that Alterra invested more than $400 million in this expansion.
Is the glass half empty or half full? I choose to believe that it’s more than half full this season. Thank you, Deer Valley.
