The Park City Ice Miners 12U team won the state championship Sunday, defeating the Ogden Junior Mustangs 5-0 in the title game, held at the Weber County Ice Sheet in South Ogden.
The team consists of Park City and Salt Lake City hockey players. They competed in the Utah Amateur Hockey Association’s Platinum Division, the highest level of Utah travel club hockey for their age, finishing with a 24-14-5 record this season.
“The team did unbelievably well, especially at the state tournament,” said head coach Mike Adamek. “The last quarter of the season, they made some huge improvements.”
