Last week, I got to join Vail EpicPromise’s nonprofit First Tracks at Park City Mountain Resort. Along with staff and a few board members from local nonprofits, I got to watch the sun rise and the moon set while enjoying the fresh corduroy.
After an hour of skiing we gathered for breakfast and gratitude: We are collectively grateful to the employees who make and groom snow, who got up extra early to open lifts and make the amazing chicken and waffles at the Mid Mountain Lodge. Given the lack of snow this winter, their achievement was a testament to their professionalism and hard work.
The best part of the morning was riding the chairlift and sitting at breakfast with other people who are dedicated to serving the community. It’s great to sit next to the people who help kids get out to play, to those working on affordable housing, trails, independent news, and yes, open space.
