Like most sporting events, the experience when watching the Olympics on TV can be heightened by your surroundings.
Whether watching Lindsey Vonn, Mikaela Shiffrin or other U.S. athletes vie for Games glory in Milan, it can’t hurt to do so with other Olympics fans, friends and with some good food and perhaps drinks in hand.
The Olympics will assuredly be playing nonstop across Park City’s TVs during the Milan Games, and here are a few events to check out if you’d like to enjoy the action amongst others.
Utah Olympic Park Opening Ceremony watch party
The Utah Olympic Park will be hosting an Opening Ceremony watch party on Feb. 6.
The park plans to have food trucks, beer and their big screen at the Alf Engen Ski Museum plaza showing the ceremony.
The Utah Olympic Park will also have the museum open for tours during the event, where guests can take a peak at Olympic and skiing history.
The Utah Olympic Park is also going to be hosting some smaller sport-specific parties as the Games wear on for sports like ski jumping, bobsledding and luge, which were held at the venue during the 2002 Salt Lake City Games and will be again for the 2034 Olympics.
Deer Valley’s Edgar’s Après offering Olympic menu specials
Deer Valley Resort’s Edgar’s Après at the Snow Park Lodge will be offering two menu specials during the Olympics.
Edgar’s will have Olympic wings on the menu, featuring sweet chili or peanut sauce, carrot and celery sticks and blue cheese dressing, and a three meat flatbread with pepperoni, ham, Italian sausage, mozzarella cheese and fresh basil.
Edgar’s is typically open from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., but Deer Valley will keep it open until 6 p.m. or later if enough people are interested in dining and watching the Olympics there.
Michelob Ultra hosting Ultra Summit event
Michelob Ultra will be hosting an Ultra Summit event during the Milan Olympics at the Canyons Village base.
Aspiring guests have to apply for a chance to attend the event on Michelob’s website: michelobultra.com/superioraccess/ultrasummit.
On Feb. 20, there will be a concert by DJ Kygo, night skiing will return to Park City Mountain for the first time since 2017, and there will be opportunities to try various Olympic sports, all from 7 to 9 p.m.
