Our 1,100-plus Park City Chamber businesses are at the heart of our commitment to achieving a stable, sustainable local economy and a balanced, prosperous community. Park City simply wouldn’t be Park City without them. They create jobs, generate tax revenue, raise families, contribute to charities, offer services we love, sponsor events and make our town lively. Just look at everything that happens at our resorts and on Main Street during the holidays!
To help keep that energy strong, we recently launched a fun, new local shopping program that’s perfect for gift-giving or hitting the stores this holiday season — the Mountainkind Card. No ordinary card, the Mountainkind Card is available to use at more than 100 local businesses, which allows card-givers and card-users an easy way to spend local.
Consumers can purchase one (or more) online to make purchases at participating local businesses across the area from restaurants to ski shops. More chamber partners are honoring the Mountainkind Card every day, and it is a great way to keep your dollars circulating locally while supporting local businesses.
Even better, you can offer it as a gift to friends and family or even as a “Welcome to Park City” gesture for incoming relatives or ski buddies. It’s good year-round and simple to email or use on your phone’s digital wallet.
Get online today and add a Mountainkind Card to your wallet. You’ll find it at parkcitychamber.com/mountainkind-card.
We’re also excited about the second annual Mountainkind Morning on Wednesday. Until 10 a.m., 15 participating chamber partner coffee shops — probably one of your favorites — are offering a complimentary Mountainkind mug and coffee as we celebrate the Mountainkind spirit we’re proud to call our own. These reusable, high-quality ceramic mugs will serve you well through the cold winter and will look great in your home or office for years to come.
We’re adding a fun mystery twist to this year’s Mountainkind Morning: One mug will include a Golden Ticket. The lucky finder will win a prize package featuring a staycation, a spa experience, and dinner at a local restaurant.
Stop in at your favorite coffee hub Wednesday morning and join in the fun and help spread the Mountainkind cheer. Please remember: one mug per person! Check out participating java vendors at parkcitychamber.com/mountainkind-morning.
There’s another annual tradition on our calendar in the coming weeks – the Holiday Mixer on Dec. 18 at the Visitor Information Center on Olympic Parkway in Kimball Junction. Along with holiday cheer, we will feature food and treats from Top Shelf Services, Hill’s Kitchen and CHOMP doughnuts. Our friends from Maker Union will also be there with the opportunity to build your own ornament or to purchase uniquely Park City gifts for the holiday season.
We upgraded the Visitor Center this year to include a new information desk, lighting, a larger video wall, window tinting in brand colors, an ADA compliant power door, and a customer merchandise display that’s expanded to include branded thermoses, water bottles, hats, totes, pins, and ornaments, making the Information Center a perfect stop for your holiday shopping list this year.
The digital kiosks and Hugo Coffee are still there as faves, of course. Chamber partners and guests are sure to enjoy mingling at the mixer and the chance to check out the revamped Info Center, “Park City’s front door” for thousands of visitors each year.
As we dive into the holidays, we wish you a season filled with warm mugs, great runs, local shopping, and the unmistakable Mountainkind magic that defines Park City.
Jennifer Wesselhoff is the president and CEO of the Park City Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau.
