No. 1, I want to thank Jack Rubin for asking for a recount of the votes. That must be a difficult decision, but when a vote is that close I want to know that I’m not dismissed.
I also want the council to understand that there is no mandate in this town. And even though incumbents are returned to their seats, many of us expect different results from the council going forward.
No. 2, it would be very interesting, with Ryan Dickey established as the next mayor, to put Jack Rubin on Ryan’s vacated seat.
No. 3, I was disgusted to see that UDOT is going ahead with a light at the Marsac/Deer Valley circle even after their pilot was refuted. Why are state authorities so in love with traffic lights? We are a small mountain town.
In Park City we have a total of five (major) intersections that have more than three roads coming together. For smooth traffic flow, the accepted best practice for three-way intersections is a roundabout.
I am willing to bet that more than 80% of the residents of Park City have been to Europe and have seen how roundabouts work. I’ve mentioned this before: Roundabouts are better than traffic lights in our little town.
