Two people were arrested on a variety of theft and drug charges after Summit County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a car with a stolen license plate.
Deputies spotted the vehicle on Thursday in Kimball Junction and spoke to the two occupants inside, both of whom were then arrested.
One individual was arrested for retail theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance while the other was arrested for possession of multiple stolen license plates, possession of another person’s financial cards and identifying documents and possession of a prescription drug without a prescription.
The car was impounded.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple other calls between Monday, Nov. 3, and Sunday, Nov. 9, including driving with a suspended license and retail theft.
Thursday, Nov. 6
Deputies stopped a car for violating traffic laws. The driver had a suspended license and did not have his required ignition interlock device in the vehicle. Deputies placed him under arrest and transported him to the Summit County Jail.
Wednesday, Nov. 5
Deputies contacted two individuals suspected of stealing from several retail stores in Kimball Junction. During the investigation, they also allegedly found narcotics, stolen property from nearby stores and an anti-theft device remover.
