I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone running for the Park City Council. I consider myself friends with all three and will be happy for two of them on election night and sad for the other. Luckily, I am out in Pinebrook and don’t get to vote.
Running for office is a huge undertaking. It takes time, money, and incredibly thick skin. Knowing all three, I believe they all do what they think is right, the way that they think is right.
To be clear, I don’t agree with any of them all of the time, but I believe that they all approach it from a genuine place of service. There is no “team mean” and “team kind.” There is just Team Park City.
We have grown too accustomed to running to our political corners and the smallest slight that we may perceive runs us to write a blasting letter to the editor about the evils of candidate X.
As someone who admires leadership in all its forms, I am grateful that these three have shown the courage to try to lead. You have the right to disagree with what they want to do, but at least acknowledge they are braver than most of us by even stepping up.
