I’m running for re-election to preserve Park City’s magic and serve with fair, qualified, experienced leadership.
A coordinated group has targeted me for removal: attempting to block my candidacy, spreading falsehoods over the past five months, and politicizing our nonpartisan race, bringing national divisiveness along with it. That isn’t Park City.
I’ve valued collaborating with Ryan and Tana in our first terms, and look forward to continuing. Disagreements with them, or any other elected official, are healthy. They foster diverse perspectives, collaboration, and better outcomes, avoiding groupthink and reflecting the diversity of thought in our community.
My management consulting background of over 25 years emphasizes proven results and strategic thinking. You get hired for what you’ve done, not what you think you can do. I’ve enabled evolving our city organization to position it for the future.
Our city staff excels: the strongest leadership in years with the lowest turnover in five years. Creative ideas now align with council direction, delivering the accountable, transparent government we deserve. A continuous improvement mindset empowers experts to innovate, iterate on near-misses, and build on successes. This is marked organizational progress, yielding optimal results. Additionally, we have more women leaders than ever, and it’s been an honor to serve with Park City’s first female mayor, Nann Worel.
As a four-year Park City Fire District Board member, I’ve enhanced city collaboration on wildfire mitigation and pushed to bury high-voltage power lines that have caused devastation elsewhere, an example of leveraging my utilities/infrastructure expertise for safety.
I’m proud of championing open space. I’m the only candidate who voted against a rezone for high-density development, pushed policy-enabled (no cost) water rights and additional open space acquisitions, and am opposing Clark Ranch rezoning for development (as it still lacks its promised conservation easement, defying citizen-led intent).
Other wins: neighborhood transit, direct resort bus routes, locals-first recreation access, pedestrian/cyclist safety, Rail Trail protection, workforce housing investments, and strategic planning.
These aren’t slam dunks. They’re hard-fought policy debates with the five-member council collaborating for optimal community outcomes.
For Park City’s future, let’s maintain fair representation, pragmatic leadership and fiscal responsibility in City Hall while rejecting backroom deals, insider handouts and unfeasible ideology. Perhaps it’s no wonder some would prefer my voice be quashed.
