Over the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Tana Toly on regional matters that span city, county and state levels. I’ve seen first hand how she listens, navigates complexity, builds relationships and carries a steady commitment to community values. That is exactly the kind of council member Park City needs — and why I’m proud to endorse her reelection.
Tana serves on the board of Utah League of Cities and Towns (ULCT), which was no automatic appointment — Park City had to earn that representation. In that role, she not only elevates local voice at the state level, but also gains insight into how municipal policy plays out across Utah. She has built relationships within the Legislature, and she understands how state government influences our city. That experience is rare — and critically needed now as Park City faces legislative pressures and state mandates.
Because Tana was born and raised here. Her family has been in Park City since the 1860s. She brings a perspective deeply rooted in Utah’s broader story. That gives her a unique understanding of local culture, state dynamics and the challenges that reach beyond our borders. Her family legacy in this region gives her both humility and resolve.
In her time on the council, Tana has taken on tough issues and navigated challenging personalities with grace. She has been working with the Park City legislative team the entire time, stepping in to help fend off proposed legislation that threatened municipal autonomy, and engaging in the give-and-take that is essential in good governance. She doesn’t shrink when politics get messy. She leans in.
The value she offers is not just her ideas, but her relationships — with city staff, community organizations, nonprofit leaders and state actors. When you need to move a project forward — say, improving infrastructure, managing growth, or negotiating with state agencies — you want someone who already knows the people, understands the levers, and can hit the ground running.
In a moment when many are anxious about direction, we need leaders who combine vision with experience, connection with competency. Tana Toly is exactly that kind of leader. She has earned our confidence. I encourage all Park City voters to support her reelection to the City Council.
