I’ve called Park City home since 1976. Over nearly five decades, I’ve built Park City Lodging from a one-house rental to a company managing hundreds of properties with a local staff of 70+ year-round. I’ve served as board president of the Main Street Business Alliance and most recently as the chair of the Park City Chamber.
Along the way, I’ve learned intimately what it takes for our local businesses and residents to succeed side by side. Today, that’s why I support Ryan Dickey for mayor.
A thriving community requires a thriving economy. Small and local businesses are the backbone of our community. When they succeed, we all succeed.
But economic vitality can’t come at the expense of resident concerns, the character of our community spirit,or the environment. Ryan understands that balance. Because he’s a local business owner himself, he brings both lenses of what it takes to grow a company, and what we need for a livable, sustainable city.
Ryan has been working to move projects forward, revitalizing community gems like Main Street and Bonanza Park is not just talk for him. He listens to concerns about traffic, noise, housing pressure and tourism impact, then collaborates with the community and stakeholders. He looks for sensible and applicable solutions that benefit all of Park City.
He has the unique ability to address tourism pressures while preserving the soul of our town.
I value the fact that as our vacation rental market has become more complicated, Ryan has listened to business owners, residents, and city staff, and pushed for policies that give clarity to businesses while addressing concerns about short-term rentals and their impact. That kind of leadership, with such thoughtful consideration, is rare.
In a time when many senior staff have left, when decisions feel slower because people are cautious, we need a mayor who knows how things work here, who has built relationships, and who will make tough calls rooted in community values. Ryan Dickey is that person. He values collaboration, but he also understands when to decide and lead.
Park City deserves a mayor who respects both the business community and neighborhood voices, who leads with vision and humility, who understands the stakes for families and long-time residents and newcomers alike. I believe Ryan Dickey is that mayor. I urge the community to support him, for all of us.
