As Park City looks towards the future with a coming election, we see mounting pressures from tourism and development threatening the character of our town, the choice for our next mayor is more critical than ever. I am writing to wholeheartedly endorse Jack Rubin, a leader who offers the new voice and positive direction we desperately need at City Hall.
For too long, it has felt like the same insiders are making decisions that don’t always reflect the will of the people who live and work here. Jack is not part of that old guard. He brings a fresh perspective, grounded not in political maneuvering, but in a deep and proven commitment to the well-being of our residents.
We saw Jack’s character shine brightest during our community’s time of great need. In the frightening early days of the pandemic, when uncertainty was rampant and many of our neighbors were struggling, Jack didn’t just offer sympathy, he took decisive action.
At the time, I was the director of development at the Christian Center of Park City and I got to witness so many people stepping up for their community. Jack was at the top of the list of those stepping up to help by co-founding the Most Vulnerable Fund, which provided hundreds of thousands of dollars to those in need, he provided a critical lifeline to the front-line service and undocumented workers who are the backbone of our town.
This initiative wasn’t about headlines, It was about keeping families in their homes and ensuring our community could heal together. It is a concrete, powerful example of his motivation to serve people in our community and enable them to flourish.
That is the kind of proactive, compassionate and local-first leadership Jack Rubin will bring to the mayor’s office. He has already shown he can build coalitions and deliver real results. His focus on managed growth, truly affordable housing, and putting residents back in charge of our future is exactly the change we need.
Let’s elect a mayor whose track record has been proven by example. Let’s choose the new, positive direction Jack Rubin represents.
