Ryan Dickey has the proven track record and experience to be an excellent mayor for Park City.
I’ve had the privilege of serving with Ryan on the Snyderville Basin Planning Commission for more than four years. In that time, I saw first hand the qualities that make him an exceptional leader: thoughtful analysis, professionalism and a willingness to stand up for community values.
One of the clearest examples was in 2020, when the Planning Commission forwarded a negative recommendation on the Dakota Pacific/Tech Center project. As chair, Ryan made a compelling argument that the proposal didn’t meet the standards for traffic, affordable housing, or community benefit. He asked the hard questions, dug into the details, and voted in a way that reflected both the code and the overwhelming public concern.
Using this same approach, Ryan has supported projects that brought real benefit, and has stood firm against those that didn’t, including his opposition to Highland Flats in Silver Creek and the Studio Crossing proposal in 2022.
These decisions weren’t easy, but Ryan consistently listened to the public, weighed the costs and benefits, and made calls based on all available information.
Ryan is collaborative and makes informed decisions — listening to neighbors, business owners, city staff, nonprofits, and county partners. He also understands how to balance competing needs: housing and open space, economy and environment, growth and livability. He works by building consensus, but doesn’t hesitate to make an independent decision when it’s time to move forward.
Finally, Ryan is committed to this community, raising his family in Park City while contributing nearly a decade of public service. His outstanding track record of community involvement is proven. He is steady, pragmatic, and deeply invested in our future. Park City will be in good hands with Ryan Dickey as mayor.
