We are at a pivotal moment in Park City’s history. With the Mayor Worel’s pending departure and recent turnover among senior staff, the city needs more than ever a mayor with experience, integrity and proven ability to work across boundaries. Ryan Dickey is that person.
During my time on the Summit County Council, I’ve had the opportunity to work with Ryan while he has served on City Council and in his role as a Snyderville Basin planning commissioner.
I’ve seen how he approaches regional collaboration — not just as a talking point, but as a practice. Whether the issue is traffic coordination, housing approvals, or balancing development with open space, Ryan understands how to bring people together from city, county, business and nonprofit sectors to find durable solutions.
Relationships matter, especially in our region. Good policy depends on good partnerships — with schools, with county and city staff, with citizens who expect to be heard.
Ryan has built strong working relationships with county leaders, and while we don’t always agree on outcomes, his willingness to listen, voice his opinion, and change course when new information emerges stands out. That is the mark of someone committed first to service, not to ego.
Ryan’s experience isn’t theoretical. As a business owner himself, he understands the stakes that local enterprises face in regulatory, infrastructural, and economic decisions. As a longtime Park City resident and parent, he understands what it means to build a future for our families — not for headlines or politics, but for home.
He’s lived here for well over a decade, he’s raised his family here, and he works every day with people across sectors to get things done in Park City.
What distinguishes Ryan is his blend of pragmatism and collaboration. He doesn’t come into issues locked in ideological extremes. He doesn’t wait for perfect conditions or endless consensus before acting. He gathers the facts, listens to voices across the spectrum — including those who disagree — and then makes a decision. Day after day, he has pushed the City Council toward outcomes rather than delaying with more consultants or studies.
Now, more than ever, Park City needs stable leadership that moves forward with purpose. It needs a mayor who can bridge divides, respect people —s taff, colleagues, public — and make decisions grounded in both vision and reality.
I have seen Ryan Dickey do that consistently. I endorse him for mayor of Park City because of his experience, his collaborative approach, and his determination to act.
