As an individual who has spent a considerable amount of time in academic circles, I was intrigued by editor and publisher Don Rogers’ expressed judgment regarding Charley Kirk in his column “Will Charlie Kirk’s core message die with a bullet?“
Rogers stated, “Honestly, though, this dude was not very intellectual.” I am interested in Mr. Rogers’ definition of “intellectual” and specific examples of non-intellectual dialogue involving Mr. Kirk.
Personally, I found Mr. Kirk at age 31 to be an exceptionally intelligent individual who listened to others and presented well-reasoned, logical arguments on controversial issues. And he did so in a respectful manner, which I consider to be highly intellectual.
