Park City needs leadership with deep roots, intimate knowledge of how our systems work, and the courage to act with both pragmatism and principle. That’s why I’m proud to support Ryan Dickey for mayor.
My own years of community service — from leading the People’s Health Clinic to serving on the Board of Adjustment and the Arts Advisory Board (not to mention the countless other nonprofit boards in the city I have sat on) — have shown me how essential it is to have leaders who understand the complexity of our institutions and respect the people working within them. Ryan has demonstrated that consistently, both on the Planning Commission and as a City Council member. It’s that combination of experience and respect that makes him the right leader for this moment.
The sudden resignation of the city manager, along with the departure of several senior staffers, has left Park City at a fragile juncture. In times like these, we need a mayor who understands how the city works — not from the outside, but through years of hands-on service and collaboration.
Ryan brings that depth. For more than a decade, he’s lived here, raised his family here, run local businesses, and served in critical leadership roles: chair of the Snyderville Basin Planning Commission, president of the Rotary Club, board member of the Snyderville Basin Water Reclamation District, and as a Park City Council member advancing affordable housing, park-and-ride projects, and more from concept to reality.
What sets Ryan apart is his approach. He understands both government and small business — but doesn’t confuse the two. He’s not about headlines or ideology. He listens, considers diverse viewpoints, and then moves decisively forward. He respects staff, values nonprofit and community input, and makes decisions with integrity, not expediency. When others stall, Ryan keeps projects moving.
Above all, Ryan is a parent with school-age kids, grounded in the same family values many of us share. He knows that every policy decision touches real people — parents, educators, workers, and neighbors — and he leads with their future in mind.
Park City deserves a mayor who will listen kindly, collaborate deeply, and lead steadily. Ryan Dickey is that leader. I’m honored to endorse him and eager to see him guide our city forward with experience, heart, and purpose.
