Miners: The Miners girls volleyball team took down East Thursday three sets to none. Park City dominated the first and third sets, winning them 25-4 and 25-6, respectively. The Miners are 6-6, set to take on Murray Tuesday on the road at 6:30 p.m.
The Miners girls tennis team fell to Highland Thursday at home five matches to none. Park City lost three singles and two doubles matches, with only Claire Smith at two singles pushing her opponent to three sets. The Miners have their regional tournament next Thursday and Friday at the Rosslyn Sports Complex in Salt Lake City.
Woodward: Woodward Park City’s Summer Race Series will wrap up Thursday. From 4:45-6:30 p.m., mountain bikers of all ages and abilities will race down a Woodward trail, to be announced on race day. The entry fee is $5, plus a $20 lift ticket for non-members, with the top three finishers in each men’s and women’s age brackets walking away with trophies. North Summit: The North Summit football team took down Parowan last Friday 22-19 on the road. The Braves erased a 13-8 halftime deficit, scoring 14 in the fourth quarter. Running back Knox Woolstenhulme had each of North Summit’s fourth-quarter touchdowns, one a 71-yard reception and another a one-yard rush. The Braves squared off against Kanab Friday night at home, in a rematch of last year’s state semifinal game, which Kanab won comfortably.
