I’ve had the privilege of serving on community boards alongside Ryan Dickey, and over the years I’ve come to appreciate qualities in him that are all too rare in public service. Ryan doesn’t just show up — he engages. He does the work to learn and understand complex topics, asks thoughtful questions, and truly listens to those around him.
One of the things I value most is his openness to new information. Ryan is not someone who holds onto a position out of stubbornness or ego. If presented with compelling evidence that a different approach will serve the community better, he is willing to adjust his stance.
I’ve seen him do this first hand. We haven’t always agreed, but our discussions have been respectful and constructive. I’ve walked away understanding his perspective better, and I’ve also seen him walk away having reconsidered his own.
His willingness to engage, really engage, is a big part of why Ryan is so effective. He works hard to balance a spectrum of needs that are often at the heart of Park City’s toughest issues: preserving open space while expanding transportation options, and advancing our affordable housing goals in ways that strengthen and reflect our small-town character.
These are not easy conversations, and Ryan approaches them with a collaborative spirit that builds trust among local leaders and community members.
At a time when politics can feel more divisive than productive, Ryan brings a refreshing focus on progress. He leads with civility, respect and a genuine desire to find solutions that work for the whole community.
He has shown time and again that he can get things done without resorting to negative tactics. Park City is facing complex challenges that will require thoughtful, informed, and inclusive leadership. Ryan’s ability to listen, learn, and adapt — paired with his dedication to working collaboratively — makes him the right choice for our next mayor.
