For years, Sarah Clark’s life was a balancing act. Between juggling the demands of motherhood, the mom of five somehow found time to launch a hand-stamped jewelry business in 2014 that has now grown into a lifestyle brand.
Today, The Dainty Pear, named after one of her daughters whose nickname is “pear”, is now a thriving brick-and-mortar business in Midway that opened in February 2025. Her shop offers everything from self-branded olive oil and balsamic vinegars to gourmet food products and curated kitchen and beauty essentials, all handpicked by Clark to help other families create their own meaningful moments at home.
The Spark Behind the Shift
Clark’s passion for cooking and baking led her to make the shift from jewelry to lifestyle brand. After the birth of her fifth child, she focused her blog and Instagram profile on cooking and published two cookbooks, “Grounded: Feel-Good, Real Food” and “Grounded: Holidays”. Her third cookbook is slated to be released in 2026.
With her blog already boasting a loyal readership who often reached out to her with questions and encouragement from family and friends, she decided to take the leap into entrepreneurship, blending her expertise as a multi-tasking mom with her growing brand.
“I was a little worried about switching lanes into that space, but I decided to see how it goes,” she recalls.
Turning her blog into a business wasn’t without its challenges. Clark spent months navigating a barn remodel, the former All That Stuff In The Barn, that would become her storefront and choosing inventory while managing her family’s busy schedule.
“We are totally foodies, we love food,” she explains. “A lot of my recipes are centered around whole food ingredients, so I travel to Italy, Spain, and France, and curate things in person. I have taken my team to France to meet up with some of our new vendors.”
A Curated Take on Family and Home
Every product in her shop is curated to appeal to people who wish to elevate the everyday gathering. From beautiful serving pieces to functional tableware, her goal is to make life’s everyday moments more intentional.
What’s more, Clark has created a welcoming atmosphere in her store that mirrors the warmth of her blog.
“We brought back penny candy, which was something special to us,” Clark says. “It’s nostalgic for us, and we give some to the kids who come in for free when they do our little scavenger hunt.”
Building Her Brand
Clark and her family have created a peaceful retreat in the Heber Valley that perfectly complements their bustling store. Their home sits on a charming farm where chickens, ducks, and turkeys roam.
Next up for her and The Dainty Pear is the opening of The Olive Press Cafe, set for August 2025. The cafe will serve a menu of brunch items, gelato, coffees, hot chocolates, and signature drinks. This new venture promises to expand the warm, welcoming atmosphere Clark has cultivated, offering a cozy space for the community to gather and enjoy delicious, thoughtfully prepared offerings.
