After some delay, Urban Sailor Coffee has opened its third location — and its first in Park City.
Owner Tyler Anderson and his sons joined Park City Mayor Nann Worel for a ribbon-cutting Friday morning to celebrate the opening, which Anderson had originally planned for the spring.
“Well, it obviously took us longer than we expected to get this project finished,” Anderson said. “We signed the lease back in January, and I thought we were going to be opening in the spring.”
Still, he said, the community response has been positive after the store’s soft launch in late July.
“Everyone’s been really patient, and we’ve had a lot of locals in Park City coming by almost every day while we were nearing completion, anxious to see when we were going to open,” he said. “So it’s very exciting now to be able to kind of officially say that we’re open and greet everybody.”
The shop, located at 1105 Iron Horse Drive, is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Anderson said they may extend those hours depending on the traffic they receive.
Anderson and his children, Levi and Archer, are the three main minds of the operation — CEO, COO and head roaster, respectively — and sons Burton and Cannon also help out where needed.
The company’s original location is in Sugar House in Salt Lake City, with a second location also in Salt Lake, downtown in the Post District.
The Park City store is significant, though,
“This is also our flagship location because we’re roasting all the coffee for all three shops at this location,” Anderson said.
