I am writing to wholeheartedly endorse my mom, Beth Armstrong, for Park City Council. Though I might be biased, I also believe I have a unique perspective on the quality of her character because I’ve been lucky enough to grow up watching her work her magic here in Park City.
What stands out most about my mom is that she listens. In a world full of people talking past each other, she genuinely takes time to hear people out. She listens more than she lectures, and when she responds, it’s with empathy and thoughtfulness.
That’s what makes her such an effective problem-solver. I’ve seen her take on challenges that others considered unsolvable — whether in our family, community projects, or her professional life — and find creative, common-sense solutions that work for everyone involved.
My own commitment to volunteering in Park City comes directly from her influence and example. She taught me that giving back isn’t just a duty — it’s a joy. She doesn’t just talk about civic engagement, she lives it. I’ve watched her quietly show up for others, organize help when it was needed most, and lead not for the spotlight but because she cares deeply about making things better for everyone.
She also has an incredible way of encouraging the people around her. Whether you’re a kid with a wild idea or a neighbor facing a tough time, she sees your potential and reminds you of it. People bloom around her. That kind of spirit is contagious — and it’s exactly what we need in leadership.
And of course, she’s kind. She’s loving. She’s fun. She brings warmth, laughter and light to the rooms she’s in, and she knows how to bring people together in a way that feels easy and natural.
Park City is a special place, and we are facing important choices about growth, sustainability, and the character of our community. We need thoughtful, creative, and compassionate voices at the table. My mom brings all of that — and more. I know she’ll work tirelessly for the good of this community we all love.
I hope you’ll consider voting for my mom, Beth Armstrong, for City Council. She won’t just serve Park City — she’ll lift it up.
