Summit County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a driver for suspected drunk driving after the individual crashed into a shed on Saturday.
A Summit Park homeowner called Summit County Dispatch to report a vehicle had crashed into their fence and a shed in their backyard, according to a shift report from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies investigated the accident and determined the driver was intoxicated. They then arrested the driver, who was booked into the Summit County Jail for a suspected DUI.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple other calls between Monday, July 28, and Sunday, Aug. 3, including intoxication, domestic assault and a small brush fire.
Friday, Aug. 1
Deputies responded to reports of an unconscious man near the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse. They determined the man was “highly intoxicated” and took him to the hospital to receive medical care before booking him into the Summit County Jail.
Wednesday, July 30
Deputies responded to the Kimball Junction Transit Center after receiving a report of an intoxicated woman allegedly assaulting a man. During the investigation, deputies concluded the woman committed domestic assault and took her into custody.
Tuesday, July 29
Summit County Search and Rescue responded to a brush fire near Meadow Lake after a group of campers called about the blaze. The North Summit Fire District also responded and contained the fire to a small area. The crews extinguished the flames, and no evacuations were needed.
