When we moved from Seattle several years ago, we knew we’d miss the amazing variety of Asian cuisine we left behind. Thankfully, we’ve discovered Mumbai House, a gem here in Park City that has become one of our go-to take out spots.
Recently, after picking up our usual order, I arrived home excited for our meal, only to find our beloved garlic naan missing. Feeling disappointed and thinking the restaurant had made an error, I called Mumbai House. The employee gently informed me that I hadn’t actually ordered naan, but immediately offered to charge it to my card and personally deliver it.
Normally I would have refused and driven back to the restaurant myself since it was my mistake, but with a 2 year old and a 10-day-old newborn at home, his kind offer was a godsend (I’ll blame the misorder on sleep deprivation). He arrived faster than I could have driven myself, and when I tried to thank him with a tip, he refused, insisting the restaurant was happy to take care of us.
In a time where online ordering and third party apps has made the restaurant experience increasingly impersonal, Mumbai House reminded us of the warmth and care that can make a local business special. Thank you, Mumbai House, for exceptional food and exceptional kindness. Park City is lucky to have you.
