As The Beau Collective celebrates a decade of fitness, growth and community this year, founder Whitney White Kozlowski is once again evolving the brand, this time by becoming Park City’s first HYROX affiliate gym.

What began as a fusion of White Kozlowski’s experience in fitness and hospitality has grown into a dynamic community hub.

Originally launched at Hotel Park City, The Beau Collective moved through a handful of locations, including the Colby School barn and Alpine Distilling, before settling into its current space in the top level of the outlets, a hybrid fitness studio and retail concept that buzzes with early morning workouts and midday conversations.

“We take something that most people dread and make it a delight,” White Kozlowski said. “We want it to be something they look forward to doing.”

The Beau Collective’s high-intensity interval training, or HIIT classes mix cardio, strength and core work into a 45-minute format designed to be efficient and effective. What sets the space apart, however, is its atmosphere. The team encourages people to linger, connect and treat fitness as a social ritual rather than a chore.

“Most gyms want you in and out,” White Kozlowski said. “But we think there’s magic in the lingering.”

White Kozlowski first came across HYROX through social media and was instantly intrigued, seeing it as a natural fit for what they were already doing at The Beau Collective. This summer, that alignment became official when the collective joined the newly created HYROX affiliate program.

HYROX is an international fitness race series that has exploded in popularity across Europe, the United States and other parts of the world.

The race combines eight functional workout stations with 1-kilometer runs between each, creating a standardized challenge that attracts both elite competitors and everyday fitness enthusiasts looking for a new kind of test.

The race format is also consistent in all parts of the world, allowing for global leaderboards and cumulative World Championships at the end of the race season.

Founded in Germany in 2017, HYROX now partners with gyms globally and has become known for its “fitness meets travel” vibe, said White Kozlowski — drawing local participants to events in a variety of cities like Chicago, Dallas and Paris.

“That’s what it is, a bunch of travelers with a fitness problem,” she said with a laugh.

Since the fitness studio already incorporated many of the same movements and equipment used in HYROX — like rowers, SkiErg trainers and medicine balls — the transition was seamless, White Kozlowski said.

As an affiliate, the gym now has access to official HYROX training templates and early registration perks for races, all of which gym members can access.

“I think (HYROX) will pick up a lot of former triathletes or team athletes who still want to compete, but not on such a high-maintenance level,” she said. “It’s a little less intimidating than CrossFit and more accessible for people who are ready to commit to a challenge — especially if they love to travel.”

While The Beau Collective is now partnered with an international brand, White Kozlowski said the heart of the experience remains local and rooted in community. She calls fitness the “daily vessel,” but said the real work happens in the relationships built with people during and after class.

“If you have 20 people in class, at least three or four of them are coming in not feeling great, maybe having a bummer morning, or something really heavy is going on. And then someone just makes them laugh, or someone totally unaware is like, ‘Here, I brought your weights over for you,’ some gesture of kindness, or a high five,” she said.

White Kozlowski said the combination of physical exertion and being surrounded by others pushing themselves creates a powerful sense of motivation and connection. Like in team sports, she noted, the experience wouldn’t be nearly as fulfilling without sharing the journey with others.

For those new to fitness or simply looking to try something different, White Kozlowski said the gym’s setup is welcoming and adaptable. While there’s a guided workout each day, participants often modify movements to suit their needs — whether due to injury, personal goals, or simply how their body feels. She said going off script is common and encouraged, with the focus placed more on joining the energy, music and sense of community than on strict workouts.

White Kozlowski, who’s also training for the New York City Marathon this fall, isn’t done dreaming big. Plans are underway to expand The Beau Collective model to Phoenix and other cities, with gratitude — literally — at the center. A sign reading “grateful” has traveled with the gym to each of its locations and remains a permanent fixture in the current space.

“It’s kind of our symbol,” she said. “We’re grateful for our health, for the community, for being able to move our bodies. That’s what this is all about.”

Newcomers can try a free class by signing up through The Beau Collective’s app, and memberships range from flexible punch passes to unlimited monthly options. First-time visitors can expect loud music, encouragement, a killer workout and likely a new friend or two, she said.
