The Park City Police Department received at least two recent reports of hit-and-run accidents, with the possibility of a third also reported to the agency.
The cases included:
- On Sunday, July 20, at 5:06 p.m., a hit-and-run traffic accident was reported on Swede Alley. The victim’s vehicle was apparently a Mitsubishi Outlander and suffered damage to the rear of the driver’s side. The other driver did not leave information, the police said.
- On Friday, July 18, at 4:34 p.m., a hit-and-run traffic incident was reported on Deer Valley Drive. The police were told the damage may have been caused by a driver backing into the vehicle. There was damage to the back passenger-side door, the police were told.
- On Thursday, July 17, at 10:33 p.m., a possible hit-and-run traffic accident was reported in the China Bridge garage. The damage occurred sometime between 3:30 p.m. and 10:20 p.m., the police were told.

On Sunday, July 20, at 9:15 p.m., someone reported people on a hill “dancing around a fire.” The location was in the area of what was labeled the “Deer Valley” roundabout, a possible reference to the Old Town roundabout on Deer Valley Drive. The police described the circumstances as suspicious.
Someone contacted the police at 8:46 p.m., indicating they left identification inside a bar on Main Street, and the individual was unable to go inside again. The staff was “not cooperating” with the person attempting to retrieve the identification, the police were told. The Police Department described the case as a citizen assist rather than a suspected criminal matter.
On Saturday, July 19, at 9:28 p.m., a vehicle reportedly was left on Creekside Lane for 20 minutes. There were no lights illuminated and nobody exited the vehicle, the police were told. The department described the circumstances as suspicious.
On Friday, July 18, at 7:17 p.m., a police officer stopped a driver on Snow Creek Drive, indicating the person was traveling in the wrong direction on a one-way street. Earlier, at 5:45 p.m., an officer stopped a driver on Park Avenue in the area of Snow Creek Drive in a case that also involved traveling the wrong direction on a one-way street. Public police logs did not provide details about whether the drivers received citations or warnings.
Someone on Empire Avenue contacted the Police Department at 5:04 p.m., indicating their yard was “being invaded by ‘Pot Gut’ rodents.” The person inquired about whether they could “shoot them with a BB Gun,” according to public police logs. The police classified the case as a citizen assist.
Broken glass was seen on the road on Rossie Hill Drive at 3:45 p.m. The police said the glass created a traffic hazard.
A motorhome at 1:32 p.m. was reportedly left in a parking lot on Kearns Boulevard. The police were told the vehicle had been at the location, in a school lot, for several days.
On Thursday, July 17, at 3:30 p.m., an officer pulled over a driver at or close to the intersection of S.R. 224 and Meadows Drive, indicating the person did not slow their speed and move as emergency vehicles approached. Public police logs did not provide details about whether the person received a citation or a warning. A similar case was reported on S.R. 224 at 2:49 p.m., among others that were logged recently.
On Wednesday, July 16, at 1:08 p.m., a truck was reported to be “completely jackknifed and blocking traffic both ways” on S.R. 224. The location was apparently south of Old Town.
An officer at 10:18 a.m. found a truck blocking Marsac Avenue at 10:18 a.m. The officer requested that the truck be moved.
On Tuesday, July 15, at 10:59 a.m., a vehicle overheated on S.R. 224.
On Monday, July 14, at 12 p.m., a vehicle outside a business on Prospector Avenue reportedly was left with the engine running for three hours.
A livestock problem involving unspecified animals was reported on Kearns Boulevard at 6:27 a.m. Public police logs did not provide details.
