The Park Record has launched a new Spanish-language Facebook page and website section — En Español — dedicated exclusively to Spanish-language news reporting and community updates to better serve Latino communities in Summit and Wasatch counties.
All articles written in or translated into Spanish will be shared in these spaces, along with events and announcements especially relevant to our Spanish-speaking audience. Our goal is to ensure that all community members — regardless of the language they speak or prefer — can access important local information.
As the paper’s bilingual reporter, my goal is to help grow The Park Record en Español into a trusted space for connection, representation and community storytelling, especially for Latine and Spanish-speaking residents in Summit and Wasatch counties.
Through conversations with local residents, I learned that Facebook is one of the most widely used platforms for quickly and easily accessing news and information. The goal is for this page to become a useful, reliable and timely resource for everyone who follows “The Park Record en Español.”
Recognizing that language remains a barrier to receiving information within both Summit and Wasatch counties, the dedicated section aims to bridge the gap between Spanish-speaking and non-Spanish-speaking community members by offering translated content and bilingual reporting.
The goal is to foster mutual understanding, increase representation and strengthen connections through shared stories. The Park Record wants to highlight all of the good that exists in the community, especially that which goes unseen.
Organizations such as the Wasatch Latino Coalition, the Park City Library, the Park City Sheriff’s Office, Peace House, and many others, have events, initiatives and resources that serve Spanish-speaking populations.
Through bilingual reporting, my aim is to amplify those efforts, connect more people to existing resources, and give visibility to the voices, needs and achievements of the Latino community.
This new initiative also seeks to bring The Park Record closer to the people who live in Summit and Wasatch counties — individuals with powerful stories, unique experiences, or challenges that deserve to be heard — whether to celebrate successes, raise awareness or shed light on injustice. The intention of this page is to build a safe, transparent and honest source of information that benefits everyone who turns to it.
The Park Record is available for free, both in print and online, making local news more accessible to readers, and now, regardless of the language they speak.
