I write to offer my strong and heartfelt support for Jack Rubin as the next mayor of Park City.
Jack is a leader who understands the importance of community, equity, and action. During the earliest and most uncertain days of the pandemic — when fear, confusion, and instability were at their peak — Jack stepped up for our town. He, along with Steve Maxwell and me, founded the Most Vulnerable Fund to provide financial support to Park City’s front-line service and undocumented workers who were out of work during Summit County’s shutdown and struggling to stay in their homes.
We believed if Park City was going to recover as a community, our most vulnerable needed to be at the top of the list. In a matter of weeks, we raised funding sufficient for over 500 grants for rent and utilities. Contributions were then entrusted to the Christian Center of Park City, which ensured they went directly to those in greatest need.
The goal was clear and simple: to keep people in their homes. And thanks to Jack’s leadership and the community’s compassion, that goal was accomplished. Families stayed housed, workers received the support they needed, and Park City took one of its first steps toward healing together.
This wasn’t about politics or headlines. It was about values — about putting people first and showing what it means to lead with both heart and clarity of purpose. That’s exactly the kind of leadership Jack Rubin brings to the table, and it’s exactly what Park City needs in its next mayor.
I believe Jack’s track record during the pandemic speaks volumes about the kind of mayor he would be: thoughtful, inclusive, responsive, and focused on solutions that uplift the entire community, not just the most visible or privileged parts of it.
