Fetch
Owned and operated by the Saylor family, Fetch was established by PJ and Tori Saylor in 2014 to provide Summit County dogs a special place to thrive. What began in a friend’s backyard has since blossomed into 50 acres of sanctuary where dogs can enjoy the comforts of home while benefiting from social interactions, exercise, and loving attention.
“I came to the property and fell in love with the energy and beauty,” says current owner Tony Saylor. “I knew this was a doggy paradise. It’s only 12 miles from Park City and (has) lots of room for dogs to play.”
Fetch offers a range of services designed to meet the needs of each dog and their family. The convenient daily shuttle service to and from the ranch ensures your furry friends can enjoy the space without any hassle. At the ranch, dogs benefit from fully supervised, all-day play in various play yards, providing both fun and socialization.
For dogs needing personalized support, they offer specialized training, as well as private play areas dedicated to seniors and puppies to ensure they’re comfortable and secure. Beyond playing, hiking, and cuddling, Fetch also provides full-service grooming on-site and overnight stays.
“The existing buildings made it easy to board dogs using an open play kennel-free method,” Tony explains. “This was very important to Tori as she had personally witnessed dogs who were negatively affected by kennel boarding experiences.”
Additionally, Fetch offers concierge services and collaborates with trusted professionals in Park City who specialize in pet health and wellness, wedding accommodations, and more.

Nuzzles & Co.
Nuzzles & Co. is dedicated to rescuing the most vulnerable shelter animals, ensuring they receive all the love, medical care, training, nourishment, and socialization they need until they find their forever homes. Whether you’re searching for a new four-legged family member, eager to volunteer your time with the animals, become a foster, or looking to donate and assist them in continuing this important mission, they welcome you.
“We have a partnership with the pet-friendly resorts like Pendry and Grand Hyatt Deer Valley. For every animal that stays on those properties, they will donate $25 to Nuzzles,” says Leslie Barcus, executive director.
The Rescue Ranch in Peoa is a 16,000-square-foot area designed to provide comfort and care for the dogs and cats in the program. The space was built from the ground up by dedicated volunteers, using materials generously donated by supporters. The ranch includes a state-of-the-art veterinary suite to ensure every animal receives top-notch vetting, a cozy community cat room enhanced with an outdoor “catio” for feline exploration, and expansive outdoor runs where dogs can enjoy enrichment and playtime.
Nuzzles & Co. also has an adoption center in Park City, where volunteers can come to walk dogs and take them on field trips to local pet-friendly patios or hiking trails. Jason Heigl Foundation
The Jason Heigl Foundation was founded in 2008 by Nancy and Katherine Heigl with the mission to end animal cruelty and ensure that every pet finds a loving and safe home. The organization was created as a tribute to Katherine’s late brother, Jason Heigl, whose life was marked by deep compassion and love for animals of all kinds, including dogs, cats, and even monkeys. Jason’s kindness and devotion to animal welfare inspired the Heigls to launch this foundation, celebrating his memory by working to protect and rescue vulnerable animals.
Since its inception, the Jason Heigl Foundation has rescued animals from high-risk and abusive environments and become a trusted resource for families seeking to adopt pets.
Beyond adoptions, the foundation advocates for spay and neuter programs and engages the community through education on responsible pet ownership. Their dedication has helped countless animals receive a second shot at life.
The foundation’s initiatives also include advocacy for animal rights and raising awareness about the importance of kindness and humane treatment towards all living creatures.
Canines with a Cause
Canines with a Cause pairs rescued shelter dogs with veterans coping with PTSD and other emotional challenges. This nonprofit, founded by Cathy King in 2010, trains rescue dogs to become service companions, creating rewarding partnerships that benefit both the dog and its new owner.
While their primary focus is on serving the veteran community, Canines with a Cause also offers general pet adoption services. Each adoption supports their greater mission, which mixes therapy, love, and second chances for pets and people alike.
“In 2016, we started training dogs in the women’s prison,” King recalls. “It was an amazing program. There were no good vocational programs for women at the time. It took a year to get it up and running, and the dogs would actually live there. We expanded the program to Nevada in 2018 and trained veterans who were incarcerated. Unfortunately, COVID ended our prison programs.”
Now, the organization has shifted to a foster-based training model, which involves training local families to take in dogs and work with them. This approach allows the dogs to adapt to life in a home environment while receiving essential training and socialization.
“The Paw Squad is all of our foster families that train our dogs,” King adds. “They get to meet the veteran that they have trained the dog for, which is really cool.”
