This summer, the 56th Annual Kimball Arts Festival returns to Park City’s historic Main Street, inviting more than 30,000 visitors to experience one of the nation’s top-ranked arts festivals.

Hosted by the Kimball Art Center, the festival began in 1969 as a grassroots gathering of local artists. Over five decades later, it continues to thrive as a dynamic mix of art, live music, food, and hands-on experiences.
“The Park City Kimball Arts Festival is more than an art show—it’s a celebration of what art can do for a community,” says Alex Regenold, Director of Communications at Kimball Art Center. “It brings people together, sparks meaningful conversations, and helps make the arts accessible to everyone.”
New on Main Street This Summer
This year’s festival introduces several updates. The Creation Station, which offers hands-on art activities for children and families, is moving from the Town Lift Plaza to Heber Avenue to better accommodate growing crowds.
After a successful debut last year, the VIP Lounge is returning, offering an exclusive, shaded space for guests to relax and enjoy perks throughout the weekend. Also featured on Heber Avenue is the Young Artist Academy Booth, showcasing work from talented teenage artists passionate about the study and practice of visual arts.
On view at the Kimball Art Center during the festival is Step after Step, an exhibition spotlighting performance artists who use walking as a form of communication. “We’re excited to connect this timely exhibit to the festival in creative, sustainable ways,” Regenold continues.
Celebrating Creativity, Community, and Connection
The Kimball Arts Festival is a juried art show featuring over 200 artists from across the globe. Representing 12 different mediums—including painting, ceramics, photography, sculpture, and jewelry—the exhibition is selected through a blind jury process to ensure the highest quality and diversity of work.
Regenold explains about 20% of the artists are new to the festival each year, “giving visitors fresh work to explore and offering emerging artists a valuable spotlight.”
“Park City has a deep appreciation for the arts, and that spirit of support makes this one of the most desirable festivals for artists to attend each year,” he says.
Music lovers can enjoy live performances all weekend long, thanks to a continued partnership with Mountain Town Music, with two stages hosting a range of local and regional acts.
Visitors can also sample a wide variety of fare from vendors at Food Truck Alley (located at the Brewpub parking lot) and Artisan Alley on Heber Avenue, featuring everything from gourmet bites to cold local brews.
“Visitors return year after year because the caliber of the art is truly exceptional, and the experience is one-of-a-kind,” Regenold adds.
Community Impact through the Arts
Proceeds from the festival directly support the Kimball Art Center’s year-round programs, including exhibitions, scholarships, and in-school art education. The festival also helps keep admission to the Art Center free and brings hands-on instruction and community art classes to students of all ages.
“The impact of the festival goes far beyond a single weekend,” says Regenold. “It sustains creativity and access to the arts all year long, enriching lives throughout our community.”
He hopes the experience is unforgettable for both first-time visitors and returning festival goers: “Whether they find a new favorite artist or simply enjoy the lively, welcoming atmosphere, we want people to walk away feeling inspired and creatively energized.”
