A pilot walked away from a plane crash in Heber City with only minor injuries Tuesday morning.

The Heber City Police Department and Wasatch Fire District responded to the Heber City Airport around 10:58 a.m. after reports that a small aircraft had “flipped onto its top during a landing attempt,” according to an official press release.

Emergency responders said the pilot was alert and walking when they arrived on the scene.

The pilot was the sole occupant of the plane and sustained “only minor cuts and abrasions,” officials said.

“According to the pilot, the crash occurred during a practice session involving grass landings. During the landing, the aircraft overturned and came to rest upside down,” the press release stated. “Thanks to the swift response and coordination of Heber City Airport personnel, the aircraft was safely righted and secured.”
