T he Stock Exchange in Kamas is your one-stop shop for all types of proteins. This premium meat and seafood destination, owned by Guy and Melissa Peterson, is redefining what a local food source can be.

“We were both born and raised in Utah, and we moved to the Kamas Valley in 2019,” Guy explains. “We realized there was a market for this type of business here.”

At The Stock Exchange, you’ll find a curated selection of pasture-raised beef, pork, lamb, veal, and chicken sourced from farms across Utah. And for seafood lovers, the shop includes fresh, wild-caught options flown in every other day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. As seafood is one of their most popular requests, Saturday catches can be arranged as well.

Guy grew up hunting and processing beef, and his attention to detail ensures every steak, chop, and fillet that leaves the shop is precisely what meat connoisseurs crave.
“Responsibly sourced food is important to us,” Melissa adds. “Being able to tell people where it comes from and how it comes to us, the way the farms are managed, etc.”
Customers will recognize some popular vendors in the store, such as Snake River Farms and Niman Ranch, for example. Local ranchers, including Canyon Meadows and C11 Farms, offer their grass-fed, grass-finished beef.

A Local Mission Delivered

What makes The Stock Exchange a destination is their dedication to the community and premium, sustainable products. By working closely with local farms and incorporating ethical and sustainable practices, The Stock Exchange reduces the distance from farm to table. Different types and cuts of meat are sourced from various purveyors.

“Quality and clean processing are the most important to us,” the couple explains. “Most everything in the shop is antibiotic and hormone-free.”

With population fluctuation due to seasonal tourism and second-home owners in the area, inventory management can be challenging due to the high level of freshness offered at The Stock Exchange. However, you’ll also find their staple ‘fresh items’ in the case, no matter the season.

Beyond the butcher shop offerings, those in the know head to Kamas every Friday night when the shop transforms into a sushi bar. Fresh, chef-crafted sushi is available to start your weekend with a delicious night of food. Locals love that you can pre-order and pick up a platter of handcrafted rolls to go. Think of it as sushi the ranch way—with seafood so fresh, you’ll feel like you’re sitting dockside.

“We are very willing to create custom orders for people. We also do charcuterie boards and sushi platters,” Guy adds. “We do what we say we are going to do; everything is 100% guaranteed.”
