Summit County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a domestic assault case involving a knife in the Snyderville Basin on March 25.
They observed injuries consistent with “that of an edged knife” being used on the man’s leg.
The suspect fled the scene, but deputies later located them down the street, according to a shift report.
The suspect was arrested and booked into jail after being medically cleared.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple calls between Monday, March 24, and Sunday, March 30, including driving under the influence, a missing child and false identification.
Sunday, March 30
Summit County Dispatch issued an attempt-to-locate on a vehicle. Deputies found the vehicle near Pinebrook, and the driver allegedly showed “obvious” signs of impairment. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence, as well as other traffic violations. The vehicle was impounded.
Deputies responded to a hotel in the Snyderville Basin for a reported domestic violence situation. Hotel security separated the involved parties in the lobby before law enforcement arrived. The suspect in the case allegedly used physical force to prevent a woman from leaving the hotel and took her phone, “impeding her ability to call for help,” according to a shift report. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Summit County Jail.
Friday, March 28
A 7-year-old child was reported missing from an apartment complex near Kilby Road. Deputies located the child at a grocery store in Pinebrook and reunited the family.
Tuesday, March 25
Deputies responded to the Kimball Junction Transit Center after reports of a man in distress. Medical personnel and deputies determined the man was a danger to himself and was actively in crisis. He was transported and admitted to the hospital.
Monday, March 24
Search and Rescue located a missing man in the Norway Flats area. He was in good health and signed a medical release.
A man in the parking lot of the Sheriff’s Office falsely identified himself as law enforcement. Deputies consulted with the Summit County Attorney’s Office and booked the man into jail for impersonating a police officer.
