Summit County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a Kimball Junction grocery store on Friday after an adult man reportedly pushed his mother to the ground in the parking lot.
Both the son and the mother were visiting Park City from New Hampshire along with the son’s 7-year-old daughter, according to a shift report from the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the charges would be referred to the county prosecutor in lieu of transporting the son to the jail because someone needs to care for the 7-year-old girl.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple other calls between Monday, Feb. 24, and Sunday, March 2, including drug possession, driving under the influence and a stolen vehicle.
Saturday, March 1
Deputies responded to a domestic violence incident in the Kimball Junction area. They arrested the aggressor and transported them to the Summit County Jail.
Deputies and medical personnel responded to the Park City Gun Club after receiving a report of an adult man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. On arrival, EMS workers determined the man was deceased. He was transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner, and the case is still under investigation.
Friday, Feb. 28
Deputies conducted a traffic stop regarding a moving violation. The driver showed signs of impairment and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Deputies arrested the driver for suspected driving under the influence.

Tuesday, Feb. 25
Deputies responded to a gas station in Silver Creek to locate a stolen green Ford F-150 Raptor. The vehicle was parked at a gas pump, but there was no one inside. Deputies entered the gas station and found a man matching the suspect’s description. They confirmed he was the man driving the stolen vehicle and booked him into the Summit County Jail. The truck was returned to its owner.
Monday, Feb. 24
Deputies initiated a traffic stop on eastbound Interstate 80 after observing an equipment violation. A K9 unit alerted deputies to possible narcotics, and deputies found drug paraphernalia and controlled substances in a subsequent search of the vehicle. The passenger of the vehicle also had multiple active warrants. Both the driver and the passenger were arrested and transported to the Summit County Jail.
