I was severely impacted by Vail Resorts’ unwillingness to negotiate with Park City’s ski patrol and the resulting strike.
I submitted two simple requests to Vail Resorts:
1) Refund my pass. I explicitly explained that a credit for next year is unacceptable. When I am sold a broken car, I wouldn’t expect having to buy a second car at a discount.
2) Explain what actions they have taken to avoid this scenario from reoccurring next season.
I received a boilerplate corporate response acknowledging Vail Resorts’ inability to deliver on their promises but ignoring both my questions. My follow-up email requesting an answer to my questions was ignored. Another follow-up to leadership was answered with a credit offer, simply ignoring that I had clearly rejected a credit. My second question was ignored again.
In short, Vail Resorts is not taking financial responsibility for their mistakes and they are clearly not implementing any changes. With that it would be naive for me not to expect the exact same experience next season. I love Park City, but at this point I simply can’t justify coming back again.
I am wishing Park City leadership all the best in their difficult fight against Vail Resorts.
