Summit County deputies observed a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on S.R. 224 on Sunday and initiated a traffic stop.

The driver appeared intoxicated, and there was a strong smell of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle, according to a shift report from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. The driver performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and deputies took her into custody for driving under the influence.

The driver was transported to the Summit County Jail, and Park City Towing impounded the vehicle.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple other calls between Monday, Dec. 23, and Sunday, Dec. 29, including reckless driving, assault and theft.

Sunday, Dec. 29

Summit County dispatch received reports of a reckless driver and hit and run accident near S.R. 224 and Canyons Resort Drive. Deputies located the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was transported to the Summit County Jail.

Friday, Dec. 27

A person entered a garage on Henefer Road without permission while the home’s residents were sleeping. Deputies located the suspect walking around in the area and took the individual into custody.

Tuesday, Dec. 24

Deputies responded to a house party on Kilby Road after an uninvited man showed up and punched a resident of the home in the face. Deputies located the man in a nearby apartment and arrested him.

Monday, Dec. 23

Deputies responded to the Jeremy Store on Rasmussen Road after receiving a report regarding an employee who had allegedly taken money from the cash register. The employee was trespassed from all Bell store locations and cited for theft at the store owner’s request.
