Art Exhibit at the Library: Karen Kendall Millar
Park City-based painter Karen Kendall Millar continues to exhibit her works through Feb. 23 at the Park City Library, 1255 Park Ave. The exhibit is free and can be seen when the library is open. The Classic Cinema Series: ‘Christmas in Connecticut’
The Summit County Library’s Classic Cinema Series at the Kamas Valley Branch, 110 N. Main St., celebrates the season with a free screening of “Christmas in Connecticut,” not rated, at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19. The late award-winning actress Barbara Stanwyck plays a 1940s-era food writer who is actually a New York-apartment dweller who can’t boil an egg. Park City’s Holiday Spectacular and Sing–A-Long
Park City’s Holiday Spectacular and Sing-A-Long continues its two-week run Dec. 19-22 at the Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St. The performances feature song, dance and skits by local talent, and, of course, sing-a-longs. Tickets range from $17-$30 and can be purchased by visiting parkcityshows.com.
Adopt-A-Native-Elder Holiday Boutique
Adopt-A-Native-Elder, a Park City-based nonprofit that helps provide food, firewood and other necessities to Navajo elders on reservations, will present a holiday boutique from 10 a.m.-6 p.m on Dec. 20-22 at Deer Valley’s Snow Park Lodge. The boutique, which is free and open to the public, will feature authentic hand-woven rugs and handmade jewelry by more than 70 weavers and jewelers. For information, visit anelder.org.
Winter Solstice Concert with Freedog and special guest Wyatt Pike
Park City-based singers and songwriters Freedog and Wyatt Pike will perform a Winter Solstice concert at 7:30 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Prospector Conference Center and Theater, 2175 Sidewinder Drive. Freedog, also known as Bryon Friedman, a former U.S. Ski Team member and co-founder of Soul Poles, which manufactured sustainable ski poles crafted out of bamboo. Author Signing at Dolly’s Bookstore: C.A. Fox
C.A. Fox, a Park City resident and author of the fantasy novel “Prophecy” will sign her book from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, at Dolly’s Bookstore, 528 Main St. “Prophesy,” the second book in Fox’s fantasy trilogy and sequel to her work 2023’s “Paradox,” follows the story of Jax Sharkin, a royal and bi-racial main character.
