U.S. Ski Team: The Stifel Snow Show will return for season two this winter, premiering Saturday at 12:30 p.m. on CNBC. The show will air weekly episodes through the end of the World Cup season, aiming to give fans a deeper dive into the sport. Season two will focus more in-depth on some of the U.S. Team’s best athletes like Mikaela Shiffrin, Alex Hall and Jessie Diggins. Episodes can also be found on Peacock and YouTube. “We are excited to bring season two of the Stifel Snow Show back,” said Sophie Goldschmidt, president and CEO of U.S. Ski & Snowboard. “This season, we’re more focused on further elevating the profile of skiing and snowboarding in the U.S. and showcasing our amazing athlete stories on a bigger scale. We’re grateful to be able to do this with our longtime partners NBC and Stifel, and know that by working together, we’re continuing to elevate our sports and athletes to the masses.”
Miners: The Miners Red hockey squad defeated South County Wednesday 8-0. After a scoreless first period, Park City scored five goals in the second period and three in the third. Cooper Ford had two of the Miners Red’s goals, and Vince Billanti had two assists. Park City is ranked atop the state and South County entered Wednesday sixth. The Miners Red will enjoy a holiday break, next facing Skyline Jan. 8 at home.
The Miners boys basketball squad fell Tuesday 50-41 at Jordan. While Park City took an eight-point lead into the half, they were outscored 21-4 in the third quarter. The Miners are now 1-5, with Cottonwood Friday at 5:15 p.m. at Park City High. Cottonwood comes to Park City 4-3.
The Miners girls basketball squad dropped both their games Tuesday and Wednesday to Jordan and Salem Hills, respectively. Park City fell to Jordan 47-34 and to Salem Hills 57-18. The Miners are 2-5, with Cottonwood Friday at 7 p.m. at Park City High. Cottonwood comes to Park City 5-0.
The Miners wrestling squad defeated Jordan Wednesday 42-27. One of Park City’s wins came from senior Weston Meyer, who won in overtime in the 157 lbs. division. The Miners boys will head to a Stansbury tournament Friday and Saturday, and the girls, a Freemont tournament Saturday.
