As I consider my vote in this election cycle, both locally and nationally, I recognize the critical importance of supporting candidates who align with my values and contribute to the diverse fabric of our community. It is essential to choose those who have a genuine stake in the issues that will shape our future. Having lived in Park City for over 27 years and raised my children here, I want to ensure that future generations have the opportunities they need to thrive in our community.
Key issues that contribute to our sustainability include affordable housing, accessible childcare, responsible growth, and meaningful support for our nonprofits — not vanity projects. Additionally, we must proactively address the impacts of climate change on our mountain town.
In this regard, I believe that Megan McKenna is the candidate who truly embodies the issues I care about the most. As a grassroots candidate, she has experience as a science teacher in our schools, a professional ski patrol on our mountains, and an advocate for affordable housing.
