Park City Institute Concerts on the Slopes
Park City Institute’s Concerts on the Slopes series continues with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Jerry Douglas on Aug. 10, Spoon on Aug. 11 and George Thorogood & the Destroyers on Aug. 13 at Canyons Village. Simon Fest’s ‘Fiddler on the Roof’
Simon Fest continues its run of the Tony Award-winning musical “Fiddler on the Roof” on Aug. 10 and 11 at the Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St. The story, set in Imperial Russia, follows a milkman named Tevye, who, with the help of his tight-knit Jewish community, tries to protect his family, which includes a wife and five daughters, while instilling in them traditional values in the face of changing social mores and growing anti-Semitism. Park City Chamber Music Festival
Park City Chamber Music Society’s 2024 Chamber Music Festival continues at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, and 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11, at the Park City Community Church, 4501 N. S.R. 224. Music by Haydn, Brahms and Dohnányi will be performed by violinists Blanka Bednarz and Airi Yoshioka, violist Thomas Duboski, cellists Stephen Balderston and Cheung Chau, and pianist Doris Stevenson. Tickets are available by visiting pccms.org. The festival will also perform a free concert at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, at City Park.
Kamas Book Group: ‘Woman of Light’
The Kamas Book Group will discuss “Woman of Light,” this year’s One Book, One Community read by Kali Fajardo-Anstine, at 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, at the South Summit Services Building Conference Room, 110 N. Main St. in Kamas. The event is facilitated by the Summit County Library Kamas Valley Branch. Historic Glenwood Cemetery Tours
Park City Museum will host tours of the Historic Glenwood Cemetery from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays through Aug. 30. Tours will discover the history of the cemetery and residents who are buried there. The cost is $15 per person. Registration and information is available at parkcityhistory.org.
