Utah’s Military Installation Development Authority is considering taking on another project area — one that would span 26 areas under the jurisdiction of the Utah National Guard across the state.
“What this is going to look like is sort of similar to our Falcon Hill project area, where we have properties that we develop for commercial purposes, and those properties will generate revenue,” said the land authority’s deputy director, Ariana Farber. “They will help with other projects that will help support the mission and the operational capacity of Utah Army National Guard.”
While she described the project as still conceptual, Farber did say MIDA is compiling a priority list with the Army National Guard to determine what projects should be given priority for funding.
Along with the 26 Utah Army National Guard properties that will be involved in MIDA’s new mission, it will also include a piece of Tooele and the National Guard Training Center Camp Williams.
MIDA officials said they will discuss the potential project’s details in the next board meeting, currently scheduled for July 2.
