It’s summertime in Park City, and that means the Flying Ace All-Stars are back at the Utah Olympic Park (UOP) for their freestyle shows.
The Flying Aces will begin this summer with two half-hour shows this weekend, Friday and Saturday nights from 6:30 to 7 p.m. at the Olympic venue.
Olympic and national team skiers will participate and wow crowds with aerial maneuvers into the UOP pool. These skiers often practice with a lot of water ramp action during their summers, many of which train at the center.
The Flying Aces will call the UOP pool home until Labor Day weekend, when many of them will shift their focus toward the upcoming ski season.
Tickets will be $20/person at each show and $70 for a family bundle of four.
U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Famers Fuzz Feddersen and Trace Worthington are the brains behind the Flying Aces. Their shows not only wow crowds with the spectacle of aerials skiing, but also provide the participating athletes with opportunities to make money during their offseason to finance their athletic pursuits.
The Flying Aces sometimes perform trampoline shows in addition to their stints at the UOP.
Parkite and Beijing Winter Games mixed aerials gold medalist Ashley Caldwell has been an ace for over a decade now. Last summer before one of the shows, she touched upon the special crowds and the fun she and her fellow Aces have.
“We have thousands of people come up here and watch us during the shows,” said Caldwell. “You never know what’s going to happen out there.”
“People are always making bets at the top to see if someone will do a new trick or go higher, so every show is a little different and we’re constantly pushing each other to do fun things.”

Patrons can tend to show up nearly an hour before the shows, seeking the closest and best views towards the action — though there’s hardly a bad seat in the house.
