Pride Month begins
Summit Pride, formerly the Park City LGBTQ+ Task Force, will host an array of Pride Month events, starting with a Pride Flag raising ceremony at 10 a.m. on June 1 at Miners Hospital. The flag raising will be followed by talks and presentations before moving to City Park at 11 a.m. for a Pride Picnic. Mel Soul & The Heartbeats will perform live music until 2 p.m., and picnic-goers can bring their own food and drinks. For information, visit summitpride.org.
Park City Film: ‘Challengers’
Park City Film continues a weekend screening of Luca Guadagnino’s “Challengers,” rated R, Saturday through Sunday, June 1 and June 2, at the Park City Library’s Jim Santy Auditorium, 1255 Park Ave. Saturday screenings begin at 7 p.m. and Sunday’s film starts at 6 p.m. “Challengers” stars Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy turned coach and a force of nature who makes no apologies for her game on and off the court. Married to a champion on a losing streak (Mike Faist – West Side Story), Tashi’s strategy for her husband’s redemption takes a surprising turn when he must face off against the washed-up Patrick (Josh O’Connor – The Crown) – his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend. ‘Eucharistic Procession’ with St. Mary’s Catholic Church
Father Christopher Gray and many parishioners of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, multiple bishops and other Catholic church members across the state will do a four-mile walk starting at 2 p.m. Park City’s walk will go from St. Mary Church in Old Town, 121 Park Ave, to St. Mary’s Church at 1505 White Pine Canyon Rd. The “Eucharistic Procession” will travel down Park Avenue through the trails alongside S.R. 224. The event is part of the greater National Eucharistic Pilgrimage, which includes thousands of pilgrims from across the country spending 2 months this spring/summer walking 6,500 miles in various Eucharistic processions. Park City Treble Makers ‘How Can I Keep From Singing’
Park City Treble Makers, an all-female a cappella choir, will perform its spring concert, “How Can I Keep From Singing,” at 4 p.m., on Sunday, June 2, at Park City Community Church, 4501 N. S.R. 224. Tickets, which can be purchased at the door, are $12 for adults and $5 for children. The concert will feature sacred and popular songs as well as some surprises. Park City Farmers Market
The Park City Farmers Market runs from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. every Wednesday at Park City Mountain’s First Time chair lift parking lot. Admission is free. The Park City Farmers Market, which has been running for 21 years under Volker Ritzinger, features fresh, non-GMO produce, local meats and other local offerings. ‘Company’ at the Egyptian Theatre
Ziegfeld Theater Company will present a run of the Tony Award-winning musical comedy, “Company,” from Wednesday, June 5, to Sunday, June 9.
