The Utah School Employee Association, representing educator support professionals across Utah, has honored three Park City School District employees for exemplary service: Belsey Moscoso, Gina Cox and Alan Lewis.
The association recognizes educator support professionals in nine categories to highlight their roles beyond licensed teaching positions.
Belsey Moscoso, an outreach coordinator at McPolin Elementary, was celebrated as one of nine educator support professionals of the year. Moscoso’s dedication and impact on the community during McPolin’s Motivated Moose monthly assemblies were celebrated. Eric Esquivel, the outreach supervisor, praised Moscoso for her commitment to the school district’s mission and vision.
“Belsey embodies the spirit of service and community engagement that we value in PCSD,” said Esquivel. “Her commitment to our students and their families at McPolin goes beyond mere duty. Her passion lights up every interaction.”
Gina Cox, a bus driver in the district’s transportation department, was named the Educator Support Professional of the Year for Transportation and later honored as the Utah School Employee Associations overall award for Utah.
According to Jen Bramson, leader of the Park City Education Association., preschool teacher and current National Education Association’s ESP of the Year, Cox was recognized “based on her workplace professionalism, community service and contributions to both PCCEA and USEA.”
She is now Utah’s nominee for the National Educator Support Professional of the Year award.
Cox’s achievements were celebrated on May 13 with a gathering at the district transportation building featuring flowers, balloons and accolades from Superintendent Jill Gildea and Utah School Employee Association President Mike Evans.
The final educator support professional honored was Alan Lewis, who received Utah School Employee Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award, voted upon by association’s Delegate Assembly. Lewis, 82, has dedicated 45 years to safely transporting students. A touching letter from generations of families he has served highlighted his commitment.
The school district’s transportation director, Rich Eddington, remarked on Lewis’s longevity and dedication.
“Alan is an amazing asset to our department and district,” said Eddington. “I truly appreciate all of his contributions to our team and dedication to driving students safely.”
The Park City School District said in a post on its website that the organization takes great pride in Belsey Moscoso, Gina Cox and Alan Lewis’s achievements.
“Their exceptional contributions enhance the educational experience and help build a nurturing and dynamic community for all students,” the post said. “The recognition they have received from the USEA highlights the profound influence of school employees who consistently exceed the expectations of their roles.”
