Most of us mountain town folks have admirably rallied through the years to organize spring cleanups of trash buried under the winter snow. Our beloved town now deserves more than just a seasonal spruce-up.
As Park City residents we could take a closer look at our everyday impact to see if we can make a difference throughout the year — as there is likely an opportunity to clean up and beautify our town almost every day.
I know our modern ways of life can distract and keep our heads in the clouds, but please be good stewards of our mountain home, this priceless nature. We can regularly tidy up the out of doors by simply picking up trash. There is so much of it out there, mostly plastics. Much of it finds its way down the storm drains, threatening the mountain streams, ponds and rivers that we cherish.
My challenge for a number of years now is that nearly every time I venture outside, I pick up at least three pieces of trash. Will you please join me in this endeavor?!
